The services of a guide can open up many possibilities for your group. First and foremost you will be able to travel to destinations and environments that would not normally be available to you. Navigation, the most important aspect of wilderness travel, becomes a reliable tool for you rather than an unknown challenge. You will benefit from the added security of being in the wilderness with someone whose knowledge and experience are completely at your disposal. Guides are excellent sources of information, stories, and learning. Best of all, when things get extremely difficult and morale in your group starts to fall, a guide will make sure that the task at hand, as impossible as it might seem, gets done in due course. Not only that, but they will be ready to make hot tea and a warm campfire whenever you need them most.

A good guide is many things: a navigator, a storyteller, a chef, a nurse, a problem-solver, an opportunity-taker, a leader, and ultimately a follower. A guide should be neither authoritarian nor overly laidback, unless conditions call for it. We believe a guide should act as a companion or a partner in your voyage, someone who shares everything with you and makes your wilderness experience as fulfilling as possible. Our guides and contractors are chosen for their experience, knowledge, fitness, professionalism and sociability.
