Staff and Crew:
Steve Zdunich has been guiding wilderness tours and expeditions for close to ten years. For most of that time he has been a wilderness canoe guide. He founded Northern Ways so he could run his own wilderness expeditions. He also wanted to be able to get his friends cool jobs. Steve has worked in Central and South America and all over Canada including the Rockies, the East Coast and on many northern rivers, but he mostly keeps his paddle in Saskatchewan waters. He has guided canoe tours on the Churchill River System and all over the province from the edge of the North West Territories to south of Prince Albert National Park.

Steve is into pretty much anything that gets him in or on the water, but he has other interests too. He enjoys dogsledding and has competed in Canada's longest sled dog race: The Canadian Challenge. In the summers when he is not guiding he enjoys sailing, hiking, cycling and spending time on the family farm. When he has time he is also a field biologist, filmmaker and a volunteer with the Saskatchewan Nature and Ecotourism Association.

Here are a few of the people Steve has the pleasure of working with:

website.

Branimir Gjetvaj is a biologist, photographer, conservationist and traveller. Although he's only lived in Western Canada for about eight years he has seen more of it than most people who have spent their entire lives here. Branimir is a genuine "friend of the world", and frequently volunteers his time and effort to the causes of environmental education and conservation.

Branimir teaches our Nature Photography tours and is our photographer in residence. He has recently published his first book on the Great Sand Hills in Southern Saskatchewan. Visit his website for some photography tips and to view galleries containing beautiful images of Saskatchewan.

Trevor Provick is the person we call on when we need a porter or "sherpa". A strong guy with tons of stamina, Trev is available to join an expedition to reduce the burden and ensure that everyone has a safe, enjoyable time.

Trev has a degree in Archaeology and is a great resource to have on a trip into unexplored and historical areas. His education also reflects one of his great talents: he loves collecting and sharing stories of days past. Whether it's the Viking sagas, tales of the pre-contact North Americans, or simply an account of a previous adventure, Trev likes to weave a story around the campfire.

Congradulations on the new baby girl Trev and ML!

may you and her share many adventures in the years to come.
