| The Hellman Prospector is ideally suited for the kinds of paddling expeditions and tours that we need canoes for. It is fast and light and has a terrific cargo capacity. We chose Duralite hulls and find that they outperform Kevlar for our uses. It is a more affordable material and significantly lighter. A Duralite construction includes a mixture of special synthetic composite cloth combined with our tough flexible epoxy resin. The bow and stern are reinforced with Flexite® cloth. |
| When choosing a canoe you need to know how you intend to use it. If you have a good idea of how you plan to use your canoe now and in the future then you are well on your way. If you have little paddling experience then it's a good idea to rent a few different types of canoe and try them out for yourself. Make sure that you get good use out of what you rent. It might be a good idea to find a friend with some paddling experience to join you so that you are able to try then canoe in a few different conditions. |

| Because we are not a retailer we can give you advice that you won't get at a paddling shop. For example, depending on your paddling habits it might make better economic sense for you to rent than to buy. Always be sure and take your new canoe for a test paddle before finalizing the purchase.
